Growth Mindset

Growth Mindset

Notes

  • In a growth mindset, you learn from the journey.
  • There should be an option for failure. Failure is good.
  • An example of a fixed mindset trap: “I need a simple assignment.”
  • Moving away from a fixed mindset requires creativity, as you must show the light at the end of the tunnel. You need to navigate the excuses and open the door for them (if they find themselves at the end of their talent). You drive change with minor assignments.

How to apply

  • Show them the model and ask them where they are.
    • People are not growing or fixed at 100%.
    • Pull them out by micromanagement.
    • Do out-of-the-box thinking.
    • Challenge them. Rack the ship.
